Greg Allen
CEPA® – Founding Partner & Wealth Advisor

PROFESSIONAL SPECIALTY

Greg is passionate about helping hardworking families and business owners strive to protect and maximize their wealth. With a unique background in real estate development and small-business ownership, he excels at helping entrepreneurs, seasoned business owners, and retirees develop and deploy intentional financial strategy. He understands the complexity of business ownership; he understands the complexity of planning a successful retirement; and he can often be heard quoting Captain John “Hannibal” Smith from the A-Team TV show by saying “I LOVE IT WHEN A PLAN COMES TOGETHER!”  He specializes in income distribution planning and business exit strategies, helping clients transition their lifestyle from one of accumulation and growth to relying on investments to generate recurring income, as well as proper tax efficient transfer of wealth generationally.

ADVISING APPROACH

To Greg, the most important aspect of the planning process is the relationships he builds with his clients. “Trust is the most important currency we deal in.”  They become like family to him, and he sees it as his responsibility to keep them informed, manage their money with integrity, and make sure they know someone they trust is watching their back. He keeps an open-door policy, collaborating with clients and equipping them to make wise financial decisions. He also believes financial planning can and should be fun, and he can be counted on to crack a few “dad jokes” during a meeting.

CREDENTIALS

  • Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®)

INDUSTRY BACKGROUND

Greg began his career in his father’s real estate and construction business, in which he is still an owner. Noting his father’s long and successful history in the community, it was important to Greg that he find a way to deliver unique value in a business that was already thriving. So after about nine years in the family business, he transitioned to a career in finance. Since then, he has put their business through a rigorous estate planning process, experiencing firsthand just how meaningful such a process can be. With relationships and family ties on the line, he knows how important it is both financially and emotionally to have intentional conversations about one’s estate. Today, he helps clients prioritize this process, developing practical plans to efficiently carry out their multigenerational wealth goals.

A Q&A WITH GREG

What’s your favorite holiday tradition?

We go to downtown Indianapolis every year for Yule Tide—it’s a concert, usually hosted by someone famous, and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra plays the music live. It’s always themed, and it just puts you in the Christmas spirit.

What is one item you can’t live without?

I think I would really struggle if I didn’t have a vehicle to get around in. I’m all over the place all the time. I’d have a hard time if I lived in the old days and had to walk places!

What’s your favorite part of your day?

Getting home at night. My kids are still at an age where they’re excited to see me, so that’s really cool.
